Talking Safety With Detective Casey

ISCRS: How We Keep Students Safe

This week, Detective Casey (our School Resource Officer) and I visited each classroom to review the Idaho Standard Command Responses for Schools (ISCRS). We talked about the four safety responses we practice and what each one means:
  • Evacuation – exiting the building (for example, a fire drill).
  • Reverse Evacuation – quickly coming inside (for example, returning from recess if there is a concern on the playground).
  • Hall Check – staying in the classroom with doors shut and locked when there is a known distraction in the hallway, allowing teaching and learning to continue. We often say, “every student gets what they need.”
  • Lockdown – remaining in the classroom with doors locked, lights off, and staying quiet if an unknown person is in the building. Police respond when this occurs.
Students asked thoughtful questions, and we had great discussions about how these procedures help keep everyone safe. We encourage you to check in with your child at home if they have any additional questions or need reassurance.

Please know that we practice these safety drills regularly so students feel prepared, confident, and safe if one is ever needed. If you have any questions about any of our safety protocols, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Bikes, Scooters, and Wheels: Campus Guidelines

To help keep all students, families, and staff safe, we ask that no motorized bikes, scooters, segways, or similar devices be used on campus. Additionally, all bikes and scooters must be walked—not ridden—while on school grounds, including sidewalks, pick-up/drop-off areas, and blacktops. For safety reasons, skateboards, rollerblades, and similar items are not permitted on campus during school hours. Thank you for supporting a safe and welcoming environment for everyone!
No bikes, skateboards or scooters

No cell phones or smart watches allowed

Cell Phones & Smart Watches

Crimson Point is focused on learning! We want to prioritize instruction time and allow recess to be. time for face-to-face social interaction.

For this reason, we ask that any student with a cell phone/Smart device leave them in their backpacks during the school day (exception: documented medical uses).

Please help us protect instruction and social interaction time for our Wildcats!
